Arriving from the South

Approaching the church from the South (A64), or the South East, (A19), from the A64 York Bypass take the exit for York West and the Racecourse and join the A1036. Follow the road towards the centre of York, through several sets of traffic lights and over a roundabout. About 1/2 mile (3/4 km) after the roundabout, the church is on the right hand side by a further set of traffic lights.

Arriving from the North

Approaching the church from the North (A19), or North East (A64), it can often be easier to travel round the York Bypass and approach from the South. Alternatively, follow the signs for the City Centre. From the A19, when you reach the city wall and are faced at a set of traffic lights by a city gate, turn right and follow signs for Leeds and A1036. From the A64, when you reach the city wall and are faced at a (different) set of traffic lights by a(nother) city gate, turn right. At the next traffic lights, turn left and continue on following signs for Leeds and A1036.
From either direction you will cross the river Ouse and pass through the city wall. Keep left, continuing to follow signs for Leeds and at the next set of traffic lights turn right. You will pass a further 4 sets of traffic lights, reach a small crest in the road and then drop down a little. After about 1/2 mile (3/4 km), travelling along a tree-lined road, you will reach a further set of traffic lights with the church on the left.

Parking at the Church

There is a small car park immediately behind the Church accessed from the A1236. It should be noted, though, that this may be closed for general use for special services. Parking is sometimes permitted on the main A1236 road and to the south of the Church (on the approach from the south) Cherry Lane provides some opportunities for road-side parking as well as in the hotel car park.
