Arriving from the SouthApproaching the church from the South (A64), or the South East, (A19), from the A64 York Bypass take the exit for York West and the Racecourse and join the A1036. Follow the road towards the centre of York, through several sets of traffic lights and over a roundabout. About 1/2 mile (3/4 km) after the roundabout, the church is on the right hand side by a further set of traffic lights. |
Arriving from the NorthApproaching the church from the North (A19), or North East (A64), it can often be easier to travel round the York Bypass and approach from the South. Alternatively, follow the signs for the City Centre. From the A19, when you reach the city wall and are faced at a set of traffic lights by a city gate, turn right and follow signs for Leeds and A1036. From the A64, when you reach the city wall and are faced at a (different) set of traffic lights by a(nother) city gate, turn right. At the next traffic lights, turn left and continue on following signs for Leeds and A1036. |
Parking at the ChurchThere is a small car park immediately behind the Church accessed from the A1236. It should be noted, though, that this may be closed for general use for special services. Parking is sometimes permitted on the main A1236 road and to the south of the Church (on the approach from the south) Cherry Lane provides some opportunities for road-side parking as well as in the hotel car park. |
Public transportThere are many buses that run from the station to the church. These are the general times, although they will vary early and late in the day and at weekends:
All buses can be found across the road from the front of the station. In addition, there is a taxi rank at the front of the station. |
