Over - 50's Friendship Club

Come along on Thursday afternoons each week from 2.00 - 4.00 pm to meet new friends. Bingo, Beetle, raffles, quizzes, good conversation and days out. No membership required.



Dringhouses Over - 60's Club
St. Edward's Church Hall, Tadcaster Road

The Club meets every Monday afternoon from 2.00 to 4.00 pm and provides a chance to meet in a friendly atmosphere, to play cards or dominoes, to enjoy a cup of tea or just to chat. Assistance may be possible with transport to and from the meetings.



St. James the Deacon Fellowship
Church Meeting Room, Sherringham Drive

A mixed fellowship contact group meeting on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, except August, at 2.00 pm. If you would like to make friends, have a chat over a cup of tea, join in outings and listen to speakers you will be made very welcome.

Dringhouses Women's Fellowship
St. Edward the Confessor Church, Tadcaster Road

The Fellowship normally meets at the church every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. The meetings begin with a short service, following which there is a speaker from a yearly programme of talks.


Fellowship at West Thorpe Methodist Church

Four groups meet during the week at West Thorpe and newcomers will find a warm welcome at any of the groups....


The Welcome Fellowship

Meets on the first and third Mondays of the month from 7.30 to 9.00 pm. and provides a time of fellowship mid-week when anyone can join us in a friendly and informal atmosphere. The first Monday takes the form of a Bible Study and discussion and on the third Monday speakers are invited on a wide range of subjects. Light refreshments are served about 8.30 pm.


The Ladies Monday Club

A group of local ladies who meet on the second Monday of the month from 8.00 to 10.00 pm. Speakers on a variety of topics are invited to the meetings, which finish with a cup of tea. Outings are arranged and also a Christmas Party.


Townswomen's Guild

One of two T.G. groups in the area, the small but friendly West Thorpe group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7.30 pm. Ring Ruth for more details.


West Thorpe Women's Meeting

Meets on Wednesday afternoons, 2.30 to 4.00 pm, September to June.
The varied programme includes devotional meetings, musical afternoons, holiday slides and members afternoons. Tea and biscuits are served at the close, which gives everyone time to talk with each other.

Townswomen's Guild

Townswomen's Guild is a non-political national organisation which welcomes women of all ages, irrespective of race or creed. Its aim is to provide facilities for leisure time education and recreation and to encourage social contact and good citizenship.

The Dringhouses Branch meets at St. Edward's church hall at 2.15 pm on the third Thursday of each month, except August. As well as talks on a wide variety of interesting subjects and a monthly raffle there is a birthday party in October - the group was 50 in 2005 - and occasional coffee mornings.

Ebor Probus Club

Probus is a network of some 1800 clubs, both at home and overseas, which provide regular meetings, social functions and a focus for retired or semi-retired professional and business persons, sometimes single-sex, sometimes mixed.
Ebor Probus Club is a men's club which meets fortnightly on a Wednesday morning at 9.30 for 10.30 am from September to June, commencing with tea or coffee and biscuits at nominal cost, followed by speakers on a wide variety of subjects, often including slide presentations. Social events usually include day trips, a Christmas Luncheon and a five-day holiday, on all of which we can be accompanied by our ladies.
New members, and of course those Probus members moving to the area from elsewhere, are very welcome, often as visitors sponsored by existing members for their first two or three attendances. For more information ring the Secretary.
